HUAWEI ICT and CISCO Networking Academies are Now Open at Raya University

The programs are aimed to equip students and professionals for the competitive tech industry, develop skills in preparing industry-recognized certifications, encourage research and innovation and establish partnerships and collaboration.

In the Inauguration Ceremony, Mr. Biniam Weldegeriel, Executive for Raya University’s ICT, said that serious efforts was done thanks to the university management for their dedication in opening the academies and guideline preparation because the academies paved the way to gain internationally recognized certificates, hands-on trainings, practical experiences, access to resources, faculty development and enhanced reputation.

Professor Tadesse Dejenie, RU’s President, on his part said that these days updating yourself with different internationally accepted knowledge and skills is must and the academies highlighted to improved employability in the ICT sector and opening door to various opportunities, highly rewarded students and professionals by Providing practical skills and this can lead to internships, job placements, and collaborative research opportunities network industry relevance using Cisco and Huawei technologies.

Gebrekiros Gebreyesus (Ph.D), a Lecturer from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Raya University, Presented the objective, benefit, eligibility and basic requirements of the HUAWEI ICT Academy and CISCO Networking Academy in equipping students, faculty and professionals with cutting-edge technical skills to meet the industry demands.

Dr. Gebrekiros, in his presentation, added that Huawei Academy Offers training in Data communication, WLAN, Storage, Security, 5G, AI, cloud computing, ICT infrastructure and Python programming whereas CISCO NETWORKING Academy provides hands-on training in networking, cyber security, and Internet of Things solutions.

The eligibility and basic requirements to join the academies are passion for technology and problem-solving and basic knowledge of IT and networking concepts.

In the discussion various issues were raised and entertained by the participants.

In his closing speech, Dr. Nega Afera, Vice President for RU’s Academic, Research, Technology Transfer and Community Engagement, said that empowering ICT infrastructure is must these days to compete nationally and internationally.
