Raya University Held a Panel Discussion on the Occasion of the World HIV AIDS Day Celebrated for 37th times

Raya university held a panel discussion for its students on the occasion of the world HIV AIDS Day Celebrated for 37th times in the Country on December 1, 2024 on the University’s Hall.
The discussion aimed to aware the students about HIV/AIDS, end stigma and prejudice, and remind HIV/AIDS is reviving and has still continued to be concerning issues in the region.
Mulugeta Kiros, Lecturer and Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory at RU, presented on the causes, current prevalences and triggering factors aggravating the spread of the disease in line with the current situation in the country.
Sister Tirhas G/tsadkan, Head of the Health Office in Maichew town, stated that the virus is reviving and the spread of the virus is increasing alarmingly in the zone and in the region.
Yared Demoz, Head of the Clinik, at Raya Brewery on his part, explained the current situation of HIV/AIDS in the area and recommended to work in collaboration with concerned bodies to curb the spread of the disease in the region and the country.
In the end, various questions were raised and entertained in the discussion from the participants.
