The Ethiopian universities are expected to carry out dedicated, harmonized and standard exertion to implement the Climate Change Implementation Program

The main objective of the MoU is to enable the Ethiopian universities to play their part in providing a sustainable response to the risks arising from climate change by including the climate action in their respective institutions’ plans.

On behalf of Raya University, Professor Tadesse Dejenie, University’s President, signed the MoU. Based on the MoU, Prof. Tadesse Dejenie stated that the Climate Change Implementation Program will contribute to fulfill a committed and integrated institutional, national, continental and global role and to perform exemplary implementation by the Ethiopian universities.

ይህ የተገጸው በተዘጋጀው የኢትዮጵያ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች የአየር ንብረት ፎረም የኢ.ፌ.ዲ.ሪ ፕላንና ልማት ሚኒስቴር እና የኢትዮጵያ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች በአየር ንብረት ትግበራ ዙርያ የጋራ መግባቢያ ሰነድ ዛሬ የካቲት 28/ 2017 ዓ.ም በአዲስ አበባ በተፈረመበት ወቅት ነው።

የስምምነቱ ቁልፍ ዓላማ ሁሉንም የኢትዮጵያ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች በየተቋማቸው በአየር ንብረት ትግበራ ዙርያ በዕቅዳቸው በማካተት በአየር ንብረት ለውጥ ሳቢያ ለሚከሰቱ አደጋዎች በዘላቂነት ለመቋቋም ተግባራዊ ምላሽ ለመስጠት የበኩላቸውን ሚና እንዲጫወቱ ለማስቻል ነው።

ራያ ዩኒቨርሲቲን በመወከል የጋራ መግባቢያ ስምምነቱን የፈረሙት የዩኒቨርሲቲው ፕረዚደንት ፕሮፌሰር ታደሰ ደጀኔ ሲሆኑ ስምምነቱን መሰረት አድርገው ፕሮፌሰር ታደሰ ደጀኔ እንደተናገሩት የአየር ንብረት ለውጥ ትግበራ መርሃ-ግብሩ ቁርጠኛ እና የተቀናጀ ተቋማዊ፣ ሀገራዊ፣ አህጉራዊና ዓለም አቀፋዊ ሚናን ለመወጣት እና የዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ተምሳሌታዊ ትግበራ ለማከናወን ይረዳል ብለዋል።
