Women’s Participation and Role are Crucial to Ensure a Rapid and Sustainable Development

International Women’s Day was celebrated today at Raya University under the theme “Rapid and Sustainable Inclusive Change is Ensured by Women’s Participation!” by the coordination of Women and Social Affairs Inclusive Implementation Executive Office at the university’s smart room.

The program aims to enable women to participate and benefit equally in the economic, social and political issues.

Special Assistant to the Vice President for Administration and Development, Mr. Tikuye Derbie, said that since women’s contribution and role are crucial to ensuring speedy and sustainable revolution, it is necessary to focus on ensuring women’s equality and participation.

Sr. Asefu Kiros, the Executive for Women and Social Affairs Inclusive Implementation, presented the origins and background of International Women’s Day, delineating the key global, continental, national and regional actions that need to be taken to empower women.

In the discussion, it was noted that a allied effort should be made to empower women physically, psychologically, socially, economically and politically, to protect women’s rights and security, to increase their contribution and to ensure their welfares, and in this regard, the university is working hard to brace female employees.

International Women’s Day was celebrated for the 114th time at the global level under the theme “For All Women and Girls Rights, Equality & Empowerment”, and for the 49th time at the national level under the theme “Rapid and sustainable wide-ranging change is ensured through women’s participation”.

ፈጣንና ቀጣይነት ያለውን ልማት ለማረጋገጥ አካታች የሴቶች ተሳትፎና ድርሻ ወሳኝ መሆኑን ተገለጸ

ዓለም አቀፍ የሴቶች ቀን “ፈጣንና ቀጣይነት ያለው ሁሉን አቀፍ ለውጥ በሴቶች ተሳትፎ ይረጋገጣል!’’ በሚል መሪ ቃል በሴቶች እና ማህበራዊ ጉዳይ አካትቶ ትግበራ ሥራ አሥፈጻሚ አስተባባሪነት በዛሬው ዕለት በራያ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በተለያዩ መርሃ ግብሮች በድምቀት ተከብሯል ፡፡

መርሃ ግብሩ ሴቶች በኢኮኖሚያዊ፣ በማህበራዊና በፖለቲካዊ መስኮች እኩል ተሳታፊና ተጠቃሚ እንዲሆኑ ለማስቻል ያለመ ነው።

በመርሃ ግብሩ ተገኝተው መልዕክት ያስተላለፉት የአሥተዳደር እና ልማት ምክትል ፕረዚደንት ልዩ ረዳት መም/ር ትኩዬ ደርቤ፤ ፈጣንና ቀጣይነት ያለውን ልማት ለማረጋገጥ የሴቶች ተሳትፎና ድርሻ ወሳኝ በመሆኑ የሴቶች እኩልነት እና ተሳታፊነት እንዲረጋገጥ ትኩረት ሰጥቶ መሥራት ያስፈልጋል ብለዋል።

የሴቶችና ማህበራዊ ጉዳይ አካትቶ ትግበራ ሥራ አሥፈጻሚ የሆኑት ሲ/ር አሰፉ ኪሮስ በበኩላቸው ዓለም አቀፍ የሴቶች ቀን አመጣጥ እና ታሪካዊ ዳራ በተመለከተ ባቀረቡት ጽሁፍ ሴቶችን ለማብቃት መሰራት ያሉባቸው ዓለማዊ፣ አህጉራዊ፣ ሃገራዊ እና ክልላዊ ቁልፍ ተግባራት አስረድተዋል፡፡

ከመርሃ ግብሩ ተሳታፊዎች ጋር በተደረገ ውይይት ሴቶች በአካል፣ ስነ ልቦና፣ ማህበራዊ፣ ኢኮኖሚ እና ፖለቲካ ለማብቃት፣ የሴቶችን መብትና ደኅንነት ለማስጠበቅ፣ ተሳትፏቸውን ለማሳደግ እና ተጠቃሚነታቸውን ለማረጋገጥ የጋራ ጥረት መደረግ እንዳለበትና በዚህ ረገድ ዩኒቨርሲቲው ሴት ሰራተኞችን ለማጠናከር በትኩረት ይሰራል።

ዓለም አቀፍ የሴቶች ቀን በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ “For All Women and Girls Rights, Equality & Empowerment ” በሚል መሪ ቃል ለ114ኛ ጊዜ፣ በሀገር አቀፍ ደረጃ ደግሞ ፈጣንና ቀጣይነት ያለው ሁሉን አቀፍ ለውጥ በሴቶች ተሳትፎ ይረጋገጣል’’ በሚል መሪ ቃል ለ49ኛ ጊዜ ተከብሯል።
